Pato and Babu’s focus on this tour is “Food & Culture”- A great little escape to learn about some traditional foods and culture of Kenya with an emphasis of food in the Kibera community. Kibera is Kenyas Largest Slum settlement. The tour will share simple daily life and how we shop and prepare and cook the foods of Kenya. We encourage you to ask any questions or compare your foods and recipes with ours. Experience a real life sharing conversation.

This virtual tour will include sharing stories we typically have with our volunteers and travelers.  Just as if you were here with us- we will share some chai (Kenyan tea) and discuss our world, the lives, culture and everyday grind of life in one of Africa’s largest slum settlements. You will see the poverty but more so you will see the power of community and the happiness and joys of just living. You will join us as we cook a simple meal. But mostly you will be engaging in a true a conversation among friends.

House of Friends has a long successful history of sharing a complicated world and focus on the “Good” while being aware of the individual and community.

To prepare we only ask that you join us for chai.  We will share the simple recipe before hand. In addition we ask that you come with your best open mind to listen. We ask that you engage and feel welcome to ask any questions and shares.
